Clonakilla is a family winery, established in 1971. This wine is made from Shiraz selected from three vineyards in the Hilltops district around Young on the South Western Slopes of New South Wales.
The 2009 vinatge at Hilltops started with a bang with a vintage progressed and the fruit arrived at the winery showing plenty of warm vintage intensity and enough spice to retain a cool-climate signature.
Great colour once again and powerful, ripe, black fruit aromas. A generous palate loading with blackcurrant, liquorice and spice. Great now if you love a powerful red, but leave some in the cellar for five to ten years to taste its powerful potential.
